Yoga as a healing system

Yoga is a healing system that works with all the different layers of an individual: the physical, energetic, mental / emotional, intuitive /wisdom and the bliss layers [these are called koshas in yoga philosophy].

There may be imbalances or barriers within any of these layers that prevent a person’s connection with their true self. These may manifest as physical or mental health conditions or unhappiness in their life or relationships.

A skilled yoga therapist is able to assess a person and recognise whereabouts and in which kosha the barriers / imbalances are occurring and prescribe practices and techniques that will address these difficulties and help the person to feel better.

What happens in a Yoga Therapy session?

  • Sessions can take place online or in person, depending on your preference.
  • The initial session will generally last between 60 – 90 minutes; subsequent sessions will be shorter, lasting a maximum of 60 minutes.
  • I will ask you to complete a brief health questionnaire.
  • We will have a discussion about whatever issues are uppermost for you at the moment. I will ask questions to discover your current concerns and what you are hoping to gain through Yoga Therapy.
  • I may guide you through some gentle postures and breathing practices as part of the assessment process.
  • I will then design an individualized yoga practice, tailored to your specific needs, for you to take away and practice as homework.
  • In follow-up sessions we will review your yoga practice and discuss any changes with your condition. I may adapt your homework practice if necessary.

Cost:

£60 for initial consultation session
[of up to ninety minutes].

£55 for a single follow-up session
[of up to one hour]

£150 for a bundle of 3 sessions
[of up to one hour per session]

£250 for a bundle of 6 sessions
[of up to one hour per session]
